Worship: Ministries: About Us: |
Welcome to St. George's!We welcome you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. The faithful of St. George's want you to know that ALL are welcome here. We are a small church with a big heart. If you are searching for a community of faith where you can explore questions about life, grow in your relationship with God, experience his love and grace in your life, and work to make a difference in the world by serving others, St. George's may be the church you've been looking for. We gather every Sunday to celebrate the Holy Eucharist. All the baptized, including children, are welcome to receive Holy Communion at the altar rail. The Episcopal Church worships using the Book of Common Prayer, rooted in the richness of ancient Christian Tradition. We sing God's praises using the Episcopal hymnal supplemented by With One Voice and Lift Every Voice and Sing. Sunday School is at 9:15 AM September through May. The first Sunday of each month is Youth Sunday, where our children play a large role in the Liturgy. Children are valued here; it is our responsibility to pass on the treasure of the Christian faith to them, so that they can pass it to their children. St. George's has a strong tradition of service to others. We work in the local food pantry. We support local and national organizations that assist the poor. We have sent volunteers to Mississippi to repair homes damaged by Katrina. In 2008 we celebrated one hundred years of witness and service to the greater Hellertown and Saucon Valley communities. - Fr H. Jonathan Mayo, Rector - Bruce B., Senior Warden - Janice F., Junior Warden
