Rector - Fr. H. Jonathan Mayo
Father Jonathan has been rector of St. George's since 2010. He is a native of the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area. He had previously served parishes in California, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. Because he was serving small churches, he additionally enjoyed a career in Information Technology, from which he retired in 2010. He graduated from Wyoming Seminary Prep School, Kingston, PA in 1971, Wilkes College (now University), Wilkes-Barre, in 1975, and St. Vladimir's Orthodox Theological Seminary, Crestwood, NY, in 1980. He has immediate family living in the Lehigh Valley and the Pocono mountains. In addition to serving at St. George's, Fr. J. (as everyone calls him) also serves as Priest-in-charge of St. Stephen's Church, Whitehall, PA. He and his wife Hazel, who hails originally from Georgetown, Guyana, South America, were married in 2013.
